These are the H1N1 Symptoms

H1N1 Symptoms are similar to regular flu symptoms and may include fever, fatigue, sore throat, and chills. Some individuals with h1n1 flu have had diarrhea and vomiting. Just about all people with h1n1 have had at the minimum two to the above symptoms. But these symptoms can also be caused by many other conditions. Do to the common h1n1 symptoms, your doctor won’t be able to tell if you have h1n1 swine flu just by looking at you. Health care professionals may offer a rapid flu test, although a negative result doesn’t mean you don’t have the flu. How accurate these tests are rely on a few things including, quality, the collection method, and how much viral shedding is happening at the time of testing.

The majority of h1n1 flu cases have not been serious, especially people with otherwise good health. Mild flu symptoms such as those described above may signal H1N1, a different type of flu, or a sickness that has flu similar symptoms. Once again, the one and only real way to discover h1n1 flu is by testing.

Like regular flu, pandemic swine flu can cause neurological complications in young people. Neurologic symptoms are rare, but, they can be very bad and sometimes fatal. Symptoms include seizures or changes in mental status (confusion or sudden cognitive or behavioral changes). The medical community still doesn’t know why these symptoms occur, but one possibility is Reye’s syndrome. It usually occurs in children that come down with a viral illness and take aspirin .
